Scalable Vector Graphics, most commonly known as SVG is an Extensible Mark-ups Language based on vector image format for 2D pictures and graphics with support for animations. The SVG is developed in the year 1999 by World Wide Web Consortium. The SVG images can be searched, scripted, and compressed. It can be created and edited by any software of text editors and drawing software due to the XML features in SVG.
All the modern websites, including Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and others have the feature of SVG support available. The graphics that are available in SVG are of three types which are as follows, vector graphics, bitmap images, and texts. Besides the computer system availability of SVG, the feature is now also available for mobile devices and they are known as SVG Tiny and SVG Basic. It is also available on various mobile devices such as Motorola, Samsung, LG, and Siemens devices.
SVG was updated to 1.1 version in the year 2011, and later on 15 September 2015 on the recommendation of W3C, SVG 2 was launched with various brand new features in comparison to SVG 1.1.
